Polite Society - Saint Louis - 5S

This place is probably my favorite place in Saint Louis to eat l at. The parking is usually fine with lots of street parking spots, and the decor is nice that reminds you of home.

One of the times I went to Polite Society, they did something I've never experienced. I was told that they were unsure if they could seat my friend and I because they just had a rush of people. There was plenty of spots available but they did not want the chefs to be rushed. Honestly, for making sure the chefs could handle my party instead of blindly sitting me- that earns respect from me. I could tell that this establishment actually wants me to have a good time and experience.

This is the type of place where you can taste every ingredient in the dish and you welcome it because it's inclusion has purpose.

I have orders many things from Polite Society: the Skuna Bay Salmon, the Duck Breast, pear bruschetta, the Pork Chop, the lamb risotto, and even one time the avacado benedict for lunch.

Every meal I have had here is divine and perfectly plated. The first thing is you look at their images of the food and you think, wow that looks expensive (and it does!). Once you look at the prices you will see that they are mid tier prices! You can do two people for around 50-75 dollars easily! Though that range does sound like a lot- the quality and experience is well worth it. Everything is always cooked to perfection that going over every detail would take a long time but I will go over what I can.

There are three things that stood out the most in the dishes I've had here. The sauce of the duck breast dish pairs so perfectly with the duck it always makes me wonder if I've been eating duck incorrectly before I experienced this duck. The pear bruschetta is the best appetizer I have had in my life- it only includes a few pieces but the taste is so abstract to me. I am always left wondering how they made a pear taste so savory yet still have a hint of sweet. Lastly and pro-tip, on your birthday if you go- you get a fancy dessert. It looks like it's filled with delicious sugars (and it might be) but it tastes rich in flavor and not too sweet at all.

I really hope more people experience Polite Society's dining experience! Though a little pricey compared to like a bar it is well worth it. I always explain this place as high tier food at mid tier pricing!
